Last month, I was honored to welcome U.S. Congresswoman Debbie Dingell (MI-12) to the district for a community forum about potential changes in health care and how Michigan residents could be impacted. In a joint meeting of the House and Senate Appropriations Subcommittees for State Police, my colleagues and I reviewed the governor’s nearly $700 million MSP budget recommendation. Col. Kriste Kibbey Etue, the director of the Michigan State Police, presented the budget, which emphasized programs to combat sexual assault on college campuses, expand the forensic sciences laboratory, and create grants for police training to be fair and impartial.
