District 3 | Jan. 30, 2026 | Rep. Alabas Farhat

Dear Neighbor,

Happy New Year! I hope 2026 is off to a strong start for you and your loved ones. As winter intensifies across Michigan, my team and I are ready to continue delivering results for House District 3. This monthly newsletter offers a look into the hard work my team and I have been doing for our community.

Over the past month, our office has been engaging with residents across the district, attending community meetings, and hearing directly from constituents about the issues that matter most. In addition, we continue to hold regular coffee hours, where we are able to hear about concerns coming personally from our neighbors. We are committed to turning these conversations into meaningful action in Lansing, making sure your voices help shape the policies and priorities we pursue this year.

If you have questions about state programs or want to share concerns or ideas, please reach out to my office at (517) 373-0144 or email [email protected].

Thank you for staying connected and engaged. It is an honor to represent our community in Lansing. I look forward to continuing our work together in 2026, and wish you a warm, safe, and productive start to the year.

Sincerely,

Alabas A. Farhat
State Representative
House District 3

As the new legislative session begins, I remain focused on advancing policies that reflect the needs of House District 3. In Lansing, I am working to expand access to health care, support working families, and protect our community’s priorities shaped directly by listening to residents.

Last month, I was named MIRS’ Minority Party Lawmaker of the Year. I am grateful for this honor and remain committed to collaborating with colleagues to advance responsible policymaking and budget decisions that reflect our shared values and priorities. By listening to community voices and working constructively in Lansing, I am dedicated to promoting solutions that promote fairness, opportunity, and the well-being of families across our district.

January is National Mentoring Month

National Mentoring Month highlights the power of guidance, community leadership, and the impact mentors can have on people. Whether through after-school programs, athletics, tutoring, or community partnerships, mentors play a key role in helping Michigan’s youth succeed.

This month is a great opportunity to thank mentors and to explore ways to volunteer, support, or participate in youth programs locally.
