Dear Neighbor!
Welcome to my February newsletter! Even as winter continues to bring in cold temperatures across Michigan, my team and I remain committed to keeping our community safe, warm and supported. We are dedicated to addressing community needs and delivering results on behalf of House District 3.
This month, we continue to build on the important work that we began in the New Year. We are holding regular coffee hours to hear directly from constituents and engage the community in meaningful ways. Our office has been busy attending meetings and connecting with residents across the district to better understand how we can provide support in the community. We are passionate about turning these conversations into action in Lansing.
If you have questions about state programs or want to share concerns or ideas, please reach out to my office at (517) 373-0144 or email [email protected].
Thank you for staying connected and engaged. It is an honor to represent our community in Lansing.
Sincerely,
|

Legislative Snapshot: Budget Update, and the Governor’s State of the State

This month has been an important continuation of the work we began in January. I remain committed to advancing legislation that strengthens community health and economic prosperity. After attending the Consensus Revenue Estimating Conference and the governor’s executive budget recommendation presentation, I am working hard to ensure that a well-balanced budget is passed in a timely manner to better support our working families, schools, and local governments.

|
This past Wednesday, Feb. 25, I was proud to attend the governor’s final State of the State address. For almost a decade, she has been a strong partner in moving Michigan forward and supporting working families, and I commend her for her service. Today, we face some tough challenges ahead. The reality is that too many people across our state are still struggling to afford everyday life.
Michigan families are trying to keep up with higher grocery bills, rising housing costs, and health care that just keeps getting more expensive. People are working hard and doing everything they’re supposed to do, but it still feels impossible to get ahead. We must deliver bold solutions that make a full, dignified life possible for everyone in Michigan.
That’s what I’m focused on.

February is Black History Month
|
This February, we celebrate 100 years of celebrating Black history traditions. We honor those who broke barriers and paved the way for us all. Whether that be through education, the arts, or community activism, these stories of excellence continue to inspire Michigan’s youth to realize their own potential and lead with purpose.
