GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., May 22, 2023 — State Rep. John Fitzgerald (D-Wyoming), member of the Energy Reliability, Resilience and Accountability Task Force, joined the press conference yesterday announcing details of the Dependable Energy Listening Tour. The bipartisan task force and listening tour have been created to collect data, information, and resident and business owner experiences regarding the large-scale, prolonged power outages that occurred earlier this year after severe storms.
“I joined this task force to listen to the people of Michigan — it’s crucial we hear what their energy concerns are. I am a strong proponent of a process-oriented approach that is driven by community feedback and data. Information-gathering will put us on solid footing to make smart, informed recommendations so we can best support Michiganders’ needs and strengthen the resiliency of our energy infrastructure.”
