New Legislation

  • Next week, I will be introducing legislation to accelerate the building of electric vehicle charging stations across the state, ensuring that no Michigander is far from a fast and reliable charge.
  • I am also working on legislation related to foster care standards and gun safety.

Korematsu Day Bill Signed into Law!

On May 17, Gov. Whitmer signed into law state Sen. Chang’s bill establishing January 31st as Fred Korematsu Day in the state. Thanks to this legislation, more Michiganders will learn about the civil rights abuses carried out against Fred Korematsu and his fellow Japanese-Americans at the hands of our government, as well as Korematsu’s inspiring legacy of civil rights activism. I was proud to have shepherded a companion bill to Sen. Chang’s through the House.
