SOUTHFIELD, Mich., July 12, 2023 — This week, CNBC released its rankings of America’s top states for business, and Michigan is ranked 10th. In response, state Rep. Jason Hoskins (D-Southfield) issued the following statement:
“As chair of the House Committee on Economic Development and Small Business, I am very encouraged at Michigan’s position within the top 10 in this ranking. It’s easy to connect the dots and see that our landmark investments in education, housing and advanced manufacturing — as well as laws we’ve passed this year to make Michigan a more inclusive place to do business — are already paying dividends. We’ve got work to do in a few areas to truly be at the top, and I know we will rise to the occasion. While other states choose regressive policies, Michigan will be working on the ways we can continue to improve as a Top 10 state across the board.”
