Attorney general presented awards, met with community members
TROY, Mich., Sept. 19, 2023 — State Rep. Sharon MacDonell (D-Troy) was proud to accompany Attorney General Dana Nessel yesterday to several events around the 56th House District. First, MacDonell attended Nessel’s meeting with local police and presentation of awards to Clawson Police Department officers.
MacDonell then convened a meeting of Troy city and school officials to discuss new initiatives from the Department of the Attorney General and issues such as school safety and distribution of opioid settlement funds.
Finally, MacDonell hosted one of her regular Community Conversations, and Nessel presented to attendees about how seniors can remain connected to one another and the community, how to recognize scams, and other important local-level issues.
“It was a great privilege to welcome our attorney general to Troy and Clawson to honor our first responders, discuss important issues with local officials and help protect seniors from exploitation,” MacDonell said. “Dana Nessel is a fierce advocate for the safety and protection of Michigan residents — I will work with anyone who has the best interests of our people and communities at heart.”
