This summer has been a whirlwind! Our office has been all over the district, knocking doors, attending events, taking meetings and making sure the voices in our district are heard. With the Legislature back in session, I want to share all of the amazing memories we made during our in-district time. Thank you to every single person who continues to help make our district the place to be!
Housing & MICare
Town Halls
I am so proud of our district for turning out and being engaged in our Housing and MICare town hall events! We were honored to have special guests Congresswoman Dingell, and state Reps. Jason Morgan and Carrie Rheingans for our panel discussions. A special thank you to Mayor Nicole Brown for emceeing the most attended town hall in the state!
Tabling/Parades
Our office is making sure we serve House District 32! I believe it is crucial for constituents to have access to our elected officials, which is why I prioritized being in the community and working in solidarity with our brothers and sisters. This summer, I was happy to get involved in the community and to celebrate both America and Ypsi’s birthdays. Happy 200th birthday, Ypsilanti!

Community Events/Spaces
Our district knows how to show up! We as a community are doing the work to make sure we’re looking out for our youth; that our families are getting fed; and that the leaders are shepherding the next generation. We also know how to have fun while doing it!
THE RENT IS TOO DAMN HIGH
Housing insecurity is strangling our district, and we need action and legislation! I know there is so much more work to do and the rent is too damn high. That is why I’m happy to co-sponsor House Bill 4947, introduced by my friend and colleague, state Rep. Carrie Rheingans. This bill will repeal the ban on rent control in Michigan, which will empower local governments to protect their renting citizens.
