LANSING, Mich., April 30, 2024 — State Rep. Mai Xiong (D-Warren) was sworn in today to serve out the remaining term of the 13th House District, which encompasses parts of Warren and Detroit.

“As a newly elected state representative, I’m honored to have the chance to serve the people of my community,” Xiong said. “As a mother of four and a small-business owner, I understand the struggles that families and local businesses across our state are facing. People and communities are struggling to make ends meet. I will advocate for policies that will support the hard-working people of Michigan.”

As a member of the Michigan House of Representatives, Xiong is committed to supporting small businesses, fighting for living wages, cutting taxes for working families and investing in our public schools to ensure that all children receive a quality education.

“As an elected official, it is my duty to serve the people of Michigan and to put their needs first, so that Michiganders can thrive and reach their dreams and goals. I will work with my legislative colleagues to ensure that the people of Michigan are faithfully represented and advocated for,” Xiong continued.
