Democrats continue building stronger hometowns, supporting safety
LANSING, Mich., May 15, 2024 — The Michigan House of Representatives passed its recommended fiscal 2024-25 budget last week. It includes substantial investments in Michigan students, local economies, safety and a greater focus on the wellbeing of Michiganders. House Dems are reinforcing their commitment to building stronger hometowns and investing in their constituents. After voting on the budget, state Rep. Tullio Liberati (D-Allen Park) issued the following statement:
“We are investing in the future of our neighborhoods through several means. We are increasing preK-12 funding and lowering the costs for higher education, making it within reach for many within our community. This budget aims to make our neighborhoods safer through multiple approaches. One way is by providing local law enforcement recruiting agencies with grants to help agencies recruit, retain and integrate law enforcement officers. Another way is by ensuring that people have safe drinking water by investing in drinking water infrastructure projects. Putting the health, safety and future of hometowns first in our budget is the number one priority of House Dems.”
