State Rep. Mai Xiong (D-Warren) delivers an automated external defibrillator (AED) to Warren Woods Tower High School on Friday, May 24, 2024.

WARREN, Mich., May 28, 2024 — State Rep. Mai Xiong (D-Warren) presented a new automated external defibrillator (AED) to Warren Woods Tower High School last week. Recently signed legislation requires schools to maintain AEDs and ensure they are accessible within one to three minutes during a cardiac emergency. In celebration of the new law, the NFL donated 50 AEDs for Michigan legislators to distribute to schools in their districts. Xiong issued the following statement after presenting the AED to Warren Woods Tower High School:

“The safety and security of our students, staff, and educators is paramount. I’m honored to have had the opportunity to present an AED to Warren Woods Tower High School in the 13th House District. The availability of an AED on school property ensures that staff and administrators are equipped to help save the life of anyone experiencing a cardiac arrest while participating in classroom activities and events.”
