LANSING, Mich., July 12, 2024 — The Michigan House of Representatives passed the state’s fiscal 2024-25 budget. In response to investments included for Saginaw County, state Rep. Amos O’Neal (D-Saginaw) issued the following statement:

“The investments in the Saginaw community highlight Michigan Democrats’ commitment to revitalizing our hometowns,” said O’Neal. “This funding will put money back into our classrooms and provide additional resources for our students. The best investment we can make is in the future of our children. We are also investing in community staples, by providing them with the funding they need to continue serving our residents.”

The 94th House District, which includes communities in Saginaw County, will specifically see the following major investments:

  • $1.6 million for the Saginaw Memorial Cup
  • $2.5 million for the Saginaw School District
  • $1.9 million for Sherwood Pool Renovations
  • $425,000 for the Bridgeport Gun Club
  • $600,000 for PartnerShift Network
  • $1 million for Buena Vista Township
  • $1 million for the Eastside Soup Kitchen
