LANSING, Mich., Nov. 13, 2024 — State Rep. Amos O’Neal (D-Saginaw) had two bills incentivizing businesses to keep jobs in Michigan passed the House of Representatives today. House Bills 5164 and 5165 creates a registry of call centers that move jobs overseas and makes them ineligible for economic development incentives. After today’s vote, state Rep. Amos O’Neal (D-Saginaw), sponsor of this legislation, issued the following statement:

“Michigan deserves a prosperous job force with family-sustaining wages. These bills encourage companies to not only stay in the U.S., but in Michigan. Special grants and loans should go to those that help make Michigan thrive and ensure there is a mutually beneficial relationship.”
