House Resolution 19 is a direct attack on local control, tying critical state funding to federal immigration enforcement and forcing communities into compliance. Local leaders know what’s best for their residents—not the politicians pushing this harmful resolution.

This policy reeks of Trump impostor syndrome. It’s just another page from the Republican playbook of chaos, using fear and division to score political points. I voted NO, proudly. Michigan communities deserve better than being held hostage by partisan games.Every House Democrat voted today against the Republican power grab to strip local communities of essential funding. #MILeg

It's interesting that you cite "local control" on the illegal immigration issue when the democrat legislature, in lame duck session in 2024, passed HB 5120 and HB 5121 that takes away local control regarding green energy projects of 100 megawatts or more. Local governments are not allowed to restrict these types of projects when the state has approved them. In Saline township, approximately 1100 acres of land is to be stripped and converted into a 150 megawatt solar farm, though the majority of township residents oppose it. Your quote "Local leaders know what’s best for their residents—not the politicians....." doesn't apply to "green energy" ?

For reasons other than weather Pioneer High School is closed tomorrow.Dear Pioneer High School Community,

This evening we were informed about a water main break on the Pioneer grounds that has required shutting off water to the building. Due to the lack of water, which is anticipated to last most of the day tomorrow, we are unable to maintain a safe and sanitary school environment for students and staff.

There will be no school, tomorrow, February 6, 2025, for Pioneer students and staff. We understand the inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding as we prioritize the health and safety of our students, staff, and faculty.

We will send another communication with an update as soon as it becomes available.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

Sincerely,

Jazz Parks
