LANSING, Mich., June 2, 2025 — Tracy Wimmer has been named Chief Communications Strategist for House Democratic Leader Ranjeev Puri (D-Canton) and the Michigan House Democrats. Wimmer will also serve as spokesperson for Puri and the primary media contact for caucus issues. In response to Wimmer joining his staff, Puri released the following statement:
“Tracy has a long and successful track record of delivering the information the people of our state need to understand how their government is serving them — and when it is failing to do so. Bringing that insight and experience to our caucus is a critical contribution to our work to better the lives of everyday Michiganders, and we welcome her joining our leadership team.”
Wimmer’s government credentials include multiple cycles with the Michigan House Democrats in a number of roles — including 2018 when the House Democrats picked up six seats — and serving as Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson’s Director of Media Relations through the 2020 election and its aftermath. Wimmer has also been with Consumers Energy since 2022.
