Dear friends,
Budget negotiations are taking longer than usual in Lansing. With a looming deadline of July 1 for school funding, I’m getting more and more questions from education leaders and stakeholders in our community. School administrators and members of our school boards, educators, parents, grandparents — and even students! — are asking questions about the risks associated with budget delays.
That’s why I’m inviting you to our next Community Conversation.
At this event, we’ll take a closer look at where we are in the budget process, what some of the budget negotiations might entail, and how our schools may be affected in the fall. We’ll bring together local voices, expert perspectives and people with lived experiences in our K-12 education system.
Please join me at this important event to help increase public understanding of the challenges we face and what might come next for Michigan schools and families.
