LANSING — State Rep. Patrick Green (D-Warren) announced his House committee assignments for the new legislative session today. Green will be the Democratic vice chairman of the House Local Government Committee, and will serve as a member of the House Energy Committee and House Financial Services Committee.
“I am honored to be the Democratic vice chairman of the Local Government Committee,” said Green. “As a former city councilman, I understand the intricacies of local government. The issues facing our local elected officials are complex, and there is no ‘one-size-fits-all’ solution. I look forward to working together with my colleagues to help address the problems that face our municipalities. Our committee will have the opportunity to create solutions that can improve the operations of our localities and address the different struggles they face.”
Green also plans to build on the work he started in the House Energy Committee in the 2016-17 session.
“The passage of the energy package at the end of the 2016-17 legislative session created a strong framework for Michigan’s energy industry,” explained Green. “That being said, the interests of my constituents in Warren and Center Line will always remain a top priority. I’m excited to hit the ground running and build upon the progress we made at the end of last year.”
