“Latino men and women helped build this state, and they belong in our communities just as much as anyone else. These comments and the clear theme of continued racist sentiments displayed in Saline as of late are an unfortunate reminder of the discrimination that Latinos and other people of color still face on a daily basis. This type of thinking has no place in our communities, especially in our schools, and we urge Saline Public Schools to take action to ensure their community takes a more welcoming approach.”
