It was a pleasure to join the Marquette County Veterans Alliance to honor the 2024 Veteran of the Year, Ray Carlson. Mr. Carlson has earned the National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal for his service in the U.S. Navy.
Locally, he has volunteered with Michiganders of all ages through his work at the local Michigan Veteran Homes D.J. Jacobetti, Boys State and the Post 44 Youth Raffle. Thank you for your service, Ray; I'm proud to know people like you are working tirelessly to keep our community a great place to call home!

The housing crisis is different across the state, and it's up to those of us in local and state government to work together to bring the right types of housing and tools for homeownership that our regions need.
