Byrd sworn in as representative for 3rd House District

LANSING — State Rep. Wendell Byrd (D-Detroit) was sworn in officially today as representative for the 3rd House District for the 2019-2020 legislative session. The swearing-in ceremony marked the formal opening of Michigan’s 100th Legislature. In response, Rep. Byrd issued the following statement:

“The needs of Michigan’s working families should always come first, addressing those needs has and will continue to be my first priority. My community deserves affordable car and health insurance and the ability to earn a strong paycheck. I am going to keep fighting for the residents of Detroit because they deserve the best quality of life possible.”
