LANSING — Today, the Michigan House passed a supplemental budget which included an additional $10 million for Comprehensive Sexual Assault Services Program grants. In response to securing this critical funding for survivors, state Rep. Kristy Pagan (D-Canton) issued the following statement:

“After four years of tirelessly advocating for these funding increases, I am pleased to announce that for the first time in Michigan’s history, we have finally appropriated state general fund dollars for Comprehensive Sexual Assault Services Program grants. By allocating $2 million, we were able to leverage an additional $8 million in federal funding, for a total of $10 million. This funding is critical to ensuring that survivors are supported and have access to the unique services that they need to heal. It will also help expand sexual assault services to unserved and underserved areas throughout the state. I know this funding will make a difference in the lives of survivors and I am truly grateful for my colleagues’ support of this funding.”
