LANSING – State Representative Andy Schor (D-Lansing) today announced the official opening of his legislative office and named his two key staff positions.

Schor announced that Marilyn Plummer will serve as his constituent relations and community services assistant. Plummer worked in the Michigan House and the Senate from 1984 to 2002, where she spent time with former state Rep. H. Lynn Jondahl and Sen. Willis Bullard Jr. Plummer has also served the city of Lansing through mayoral appointments with the Lansing Board of Water and Light Board, the Greater Lansing Area Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Commission and the Elected Officers Compensation Commission. She is a graduate and student of Davenport University in the business administration program.

Schor’s legislative assistant is Karissa Chabot-Purchase, who previously served in the same role in former state Rep. Joan Bauer’s office. She has four years of experience working within the Michigan House of Representatives and holds two degrees from Michigan State University: A bachelor’s degree in political theory and constitutional democracy from MSU’s James Madison College and a master’s degree in literacy and pedagogy from the College of Arts and Letters.

Schor noted: “Both Marilyn and Karissa are two very talented Lansing residents who are actively involved in our community. We’re all eager to offer our assistance to Lansing and Lansing Township’s residents and look forward to working with citizens on the issues important to District 68.”

Schor invites residents to get in touch with the office by calling (517) 373-0826; by emailing andyschor@house.mi.gov; or by stopping in to visit the office, which is located on the 10th floor of the Anderson House Office Building, 124 N. Capitol Ave. in Lansing.
