Tuesday, January 23, 2018
State Rep. Cara Clemente (D-Lincoln Park) attended tonight’s State of the State address with her guest, Cindy Garcia, wife of recently deported man Jorge Garcia, on Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2018, at the state Capitol in Lansing.

LANSING — State Rep. Cara Clemente (D-Lincoln Park) invited one of her Lincoln Park constituents, Cindy Garcia, the wife of recently deported Lincoln Park resident Jorge Garcia, to the Governor’s State of the State address. In addition, Clemente issued the following statement:

“I sat with Cindy Garcia during the State of the State this evening. Cindy has my continued support as she advocates for her husband’s return to his family. As the governor touts Michigan’s ‘comeback,’ the Garcias show us why Michigan needs welcoming communities that support our working families. We need hardworking people in this state to continue Michigan’s revival. I hope I can work with the governor to give the people of Michigan the tools to excel through skilled trades and higher education.”
