State Rep. Rep. Patrick Green (D-Warren) attends the 2018 State of the State address at the Michigan State Capitol on Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2018, with guest Dr. Paul Rogers, director of TARDEC.

LANSING — Gov. Rick Snyder gave his final State of the State address tonight. In response, state Rep. Patrick Green (D-Warren) issued the following statement:

“Governor Snyder and the Republican majority simply aren’t creating the opportunities the people of Michigan deserve. Our economy needs to work for everyone. We can’t get there without supporting our friends in labor by protecting prevailing wage and investing in our local industries— and in Macomb County, a big part of our economy is the defense industry. At the same time, we need to correct the lack of funding in our public schools and prepare students for college or trade schools, so we can help find the workers we need to fill our jobs.”
