We’re so pumped to be hosting a REPAIR CAFE with the Traverse Area District Library on JUNE 14 ▫️ 10am-2pm @ the Main Library 610 Woodmere Ave. 🪚🪡
The Repair Cafe is place FIX YOUR BROKEN ITEMS —clothing, bicycles, small appliances, furniture, and more—WITH HELP FROM YOUR NEIGHBORS for FREE.
You bring your broken items and we pair you with a sweet repair volunteer based off of your needs. Work along side your new best friend (repair volunteer) to LEARN HOW TO FIX your item.
All of the tools needed for basic repairs will be provided, but if there’s a specialty tool you have, please bring it!
WHAT CAN I BRING FOR REPAIR? Small to medium sized items that could be repaired using basic hand tools like: bikes, clothing, wooden objects, wicker, ceramics, furniture, small household appliances (blenders, alarm clocks, vacuums etc.), toys, lamps, and knitwear. Please no electronics like phones, computers, tablets or TVs or oversized items that cannot be easily carried by a team of two.

Last week, I was joined by leaders of the Michigan cherry industry and Tessa Nico, the 2024-25 National Cherry Queen, on the House Floor to celebrate Cherry Industry Day. This day is about honoring the legacy of hard work that makes our region known as the Cherry Capital of the World. We cannot take this industry for granted, especially with unpredictable weather changes drastically impacting harvests.
