In-District Update:

Spoke at Matrix Consulting Engineering Ribbon Cutting in Delta Township

I recently helped cut the ribbon on a new $5 million expansion of Matrix Consulting Engineers, Inc., consolidating two buildings into a newly remodeled and expanded headquarters in Delta Township. This is the result of a public-private partnership with Michigan Economic Development Corporation, Delta Township and Lansing Economic Area Partnership (LEAP). This expansion will bring 55 new good-paying jobs to our region. State Sen. Sarah Anthony joined me for the celebration and tour of the new facility.

Spoke at Freedom to Drive Press Event

More than 1,700 jobs — that’s what the new Delta Township Ultium battery plant will bring to our district. Michigan has always led the way in the auto industry and we will continue with the expansion of this plant and the more than 34,000 electric vehicle (EV) auto jobs in Michigan. Michigan is already producing six EV auto models.

In Michigan we don’t like being told what to do. We stand proudly by our automotive roots and want the freedom to choose whether we buy a gas powered truck or an EV. That’s why I stood with many leaders from our community to discuss these freedoms and encourage our elected officials to support jobs.

Grand Marshal in Olivet Firefighter’s Association

Thank you Olivet Firefighter’s Association! It was a great honor being the grand marshal for your annual parade. My pretty mom came along to ride with me. It’s been great working alongside our firefighters throughout our district to bring important dollars home for fire trucks, equipment and a training center. Thank you for your kindness and thank you Shaheen Chevrolet of Lansing for giving us a ride.

Memorial Tribute Presentation for Scott Ammarman

I attended the Village of Dimondale council meeting to present a memorial tribute in honor of Scott Ammarman to his wife, Joy, and his family. Scott was very active in his community, having served on the Village Council of Dimondale for 17 years. He will be remembered for his many passions, including guitar, downhill skiing, golf, MSU and traveling, as well as for his kind heart and dedication to his family.
