Community Update
City Employee Scam Alert in Livonia
Scammers are impersonating City of Livonia departments, commissions and even city employees. These fraudulent communications may come through phone calls, emails, text messages or social media and can appear very convincing.
If you are ever unsure whether a message, call or request is legitimate, please contact the city directly. Do not call the number in the scam communications. You can find official phone numbers at Livonia.gov/Directory.
Here are some general tips to help you avoid being scammed:
Verify before responding. If someone claims to be from the city and asks for personal information, payment or access to your accounts, stop and verify their identity using the phone numbers listed on Livonia.org/Directory.
Be cautious of urgent or threatening language. Scammers often try to pressure you by creating a false sense of emergency.
Never share sensitive pieces of information unless you have confirmed the request is legitimate.
Check email addresses and website links carefully. Scammers may use addresses that look similar to official city accounts but contain small misspellings or unusual formatting.
Report suspicious activity to the appropriate city department so they can track and address emerging scam patterns.

Coffee Hours
I hope you can join me for one of my upcoming coffee hours! I look forward to having an informal conversation with you about the issues facing families in our community. The location for in-person coffee hours rotates throughout the year between Livonia, Redford Township and Detroit. October’s in-person coffee hour will be in Redford at the Redford Township District Library (25320 Six Mile Road, Redford Township, MI 48240).
In-Person: Saturday, Oct. 17, from 2-3 p.m.
