PONTIAC, Mich., Nov. 7, 2025 — Following the heartbreaking news of the passing of newly elected Auburn Hills City Councilman Greg Oulette, state Rep. Brenda Carter (D-Pontiac) offered condolences and reflected on his decades of public service. Oulette, who had served nearly three decades on the city’s planning commission — including 17 years as its chair — passed away shortly after the polls closed on Election Day earlier this week. In response, Carter issued the following statement:

“Greg Ouellette’s commitment to Auburn Hills reflected the very best of local leadership — thoughtful, steady and service-minded. For nearly three decades, he helped guide the city’s growth, protect what makes it special, empower residents through inclusive decision-making and prepare Auburn Hills for a strong future. His dream of serving in elected office, achieved just moments before his passing, was the culmination of a lifetime dedicated to community.

“To his wife, family, friends and the residents who placed their trust in him, I extend my deepest condolences. His absence will be deeply felt, yet his example endures — in every thoughtful plan, every act of civic care and every effort to build a stronger Auburn Hills.”
