LANSING, Mich., May 20, 2022 — Today, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer announced 184 new Michigan jobs in auto manufacturing and electric vehicle testing, including 85 jobs in Redford. UTAC — an automotive testing company in Redford — is expanding an existing facility. State Rep. Mary Cavanagh (D-Redford) expressed her excitement for the business expansion in the following statement:

“It is a thrill to hear the announcement of the creation of 85 jobs in our township. I’m grateful to have UTAC, a market-leading automotive testing company, in Redford. We are fortunate for its investment in our community, which will add quality local jobs. It’s also been great to collaborate with Gov. Whitmer and the Michigan Strategic Fund to uplift workers and their families. These are all welcome signs of the continued economic growth in Redford and Michigan more broadly — it is most certainly a promising trend.
