The following are highlights from my recent work in the Legislature. All the sponsored and cosponsored legislation I work on this term (2025-26) is available here. All my legislation from my first term (2023-24) is available online. Additionally, you can see my press releases page for additional updates.

⚖️ My Introduction of the Universal Constitutional Remedies Act
|
This term, I introduced the Universal Constitutional Remedies Act (House Bill 6110) that allows Michigan residents to seek legal action if individual federal officers violate their constitutional rights within Michigan.
Strengthening legal accountability is essential to safeguarding our civil liberties. Constitutional guarantees must apply equally to all, and government officials operating in Michigan must remain accountable when they infringe upon individual rights.

🏛️ My Mid-Year Legislative Updates
|
I am proud to share my office’s mid year legislative updates, highlighting vital investments in Michigan’s educational infrastructure. In the 2026-2027 state budget recently signed into law last month by the governor, we secured substantial funding increases for our local school districts.
This budget will continue to support the free public school breakfast and lunch program that was first established under our Democratic governing trifecta in 2023. To continue this resource for students, House Democrats have introduced House Bill 4870 and 4871 this term that secure these free school meals into permanent state law.

🚲 League of Michigan Bicyclists Bike Safety Toolkit
|
I’m proud to support a statewide public education message led by the League of Michigan Bicyclists focused on improving road safety, reducing injuries and supporting climate-friendly transportation across Michigan. Safety on our roads is about looking out for one another and making small choices that protect the people around us.
Drivers can learn the best practices for sharing the road with people on bicycles through their Bicycle Friendly Driver Program, a quick one-hour online course covering safe driving habits. Riders can also learn the essential rules and safety guidelines using their comprehensive booklet What Every Michigan Bicyclist Must Know.
By staying alert and giving people riding bikes the space they need, we can help create safer streets and more connected, healthier communities for everyone. Learn more at LMB.org.

Our office can provide legislative tributes, letters and certificates on a wide range of recognitions for constituents.
