Fighting for the people’s budget, June is National Safety Month, and more

District 3 | June 30, 2026 | Rep. Alabas Farhat

Dear Neighbor,

Welcome to my June Newsletter!

As summer begins, my team and I remain dedicated to supporting the residents of House District 3 and ensuring our community continues to thrive. We are focused on addressing local concerns and advocating for responsible policies in Lansing, with a continued commitment to transparency and accessibility.

Over the past month, our office has been engaging with residents across the district, attending community meetings, and hearing directly from constituents about the issues that matter most. In addition, we continue to hold regular coffee hours, where we are able to hear about concerns coming personally from our neighbors. We are committed to turning these conversations into meaningful action in Lansing, making sure your voices help shape the policies and priorities we pursue this year. I’m grateful for the warm welcome and the opportunity to stay connected with these important voices in our district.

If you have questions about state programs or would like to share your concerns or ideas, please reach out to my office at 517-373-0144 or email [email protected].

Thank you for staying connected and engaged. It is an honor to represent our community in Lansing.

Sincerely,

Alabas A. Farhat
State Representative
House District 3

🏛️ Legislative Updates

Legislative Snapshot: Fighting for the People’s Budget

As your state representative and member of the House Appropriations Committee, I’m committed to ensuring this year’s state budget addresses the needs of our communities. That includes making meaningful investments in public education so students and teachers have the resources they need to succeed, and schools can plan ahead with confidence. It also means investing in the services that keep our communities strong, such as public safety, healthcare, and infrastructure, while continuing to support economic development and growth across the region.

At the end of the day, the state budget is about people — it’s about making sure families have access to opportunity, that young people can build their futures here at home and that every resident feels the benefits of strong, reliable public services. I’m committed to making sure our community’s voices are reflected in every decision we make.

June is National Safety Month

June marks National Safety Month, a nationwide initiative focused on preventing injuries and saving lives. Whether at work, on the road, or at home, it’s a time to spotlight simple yet impactful steps we can all take to create safer environments. By staying informed and proactive, we help protect ourselves and our communities every day.
