The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) and Library of Michigan are granting older adults free interactive online programs designed to increase social interaction, physical activity and wellness.

The classes provided cover a wide variety of topics, such as how to effectively use digital technology, health and wellness, fitness, and cooking. The interactive classes are taught by older individuals on the social learning platform GetSetUp and can be accessed at any time. Participants can join a live class or view it later at their convenience.

The GetSetUp program also helps active agers become more fit, learn to manage their finances, develop new skills and even supplement their income. Plus, classes are available in multiple languages, including English, Mandarin and Hindi, and a growing number of weekly classes in Spanish. Older adults in Michigan can access the program at www.getsetup.io/partner/michigan.
