ROMULUS — This week, General Motors announced its plan to invest $20 million in its Romulus propulsion plant to increase the facility’s capabilities for future transmission production. In response, State Rep. Alex Garza (D-Taylor) issued the following statement:

“I am grateful to see GM has heard and listened to the labor voices who helped build their company and chosen to renew its commitment to our community and all the working families who help to uplift its brand. This plan will not only keep good paying jobs right here at home, it will help keep our dollars circulating in our local economies. The future of Michigan and our auto industry is bright when American manufacturers like GM support the very communities and families who have stood by them for decades.”
