LANSING, Mich., Sept. 9, 2021 — Today, the Michigan House of Representatives held its annual Sept. 11 ceremony to commemorate Michigan first responders lost in the line of duty during the past year, honor those lost in the 2001 attacks and recognize first responders serving in Michigan communities today. State Rep. Tullio Liberati (D-Allen Park), who hosted Allen Park Police Chief Chris Eagan and retired Police Officer David Tringer, a 30-year veteran on the force, during the ceremony, issued the following statement:

“Twenty years ago, hundreds of first responders rushed into action to rescue those buried under rubble, put out the flames and save lives — many of whom made the ultimate sacrifice in the process. Today, we remember them and the public safety officers who risk their lives every day to protect us. I am honored to recognize Chief Eagan and Officer Tringer at the Capitol for their commitment to continuously answering that call.”
