FLUSHING, Mich., Nov. 16, 2023 — U.S. Representative Dan Kildee (D-Flint Township) announced today he will not seek re-election. Kildee has served in Congress since 2013, representing parts of Genesee, Saginaw, Bay, and Midland counties. During his tenure, Congressman Kildee has represented his community through the Flint water crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic, advocating to eliminate PFAS and changes in the global economy. State Rep. Jasper Martus (D-Flushing) previously served as a staffer for Kildee. In response to the announcement, Martus issued the following statement:

“Congressman Kildee is my hero. I would not be where I am or who I am today without Dan. He has been a role model, both personally and professionally, for many years. Dan represents our community with integrity, resilience and most importantly, kindness. No matter where he goes or what he does next, I will always be a proud member of Team Kildee.”
