CENTER LINE, Mich., April 10, 2026 — Yesterday, state Rep. Mike McFall (D-Hazel Park) attended the Rx Kids program launch in the cities of Center Line and Mount Clemens. The expansion highlights both the rising demand and strong public support for the program, bringing assistance to young families in 42 communities across Michigan.
“Strong communities are built when people look out for one another. By providing practical support to parents and newborns during a critical stage of life, Rx Kids helps strengthen family stability and promote healthier futures for kids and communities,” McFall said. “I’m especially proud to recognize the positive impact this program has brought to Hazel Park since September and will now have in Center Line, both communities I represent.”
As of April 1, eligible mothers and babies in the two communities can apply to receive $1,500 during pregnancy and $500 per month for the first six to twelve months of their child’s life. Research shows Rx Kids helps families make ends meet, stay housed and fed, and manage unexpected costs during a critical stage of life.
“Too many families face financial stress at the very moment they should be focused on welcoming a new baby. Rx Kids changes that, giving parents the stability they need so every child in our community can get the best possible start in life,” McFall concluded.
