LANSING – House Democratic Leader Tim Greimel (D-Auburn Hills) announced today that the Michigan House Democrats have formed a task force that will promote small businesses and focus on job creation. The task force is a response to Michigan Republicans’ increasing support of big corporations without increasing employment rates in the state.

“I am glad to see House Bill 4714 to expand Medicaid to include more than 400,000 working Michiganders voted out of the Senate Government Operations Committee. I am hopeful that Senate members will keep the momentum going and act quickly to send this bill back to the House. While this Senate version is far from perfect, it is a good start and there is a much better option for Michigan workers and families than the...

“I’m extremely disappointed by Dr. Arnn’s offensive remarks this afternoon in front of the Common Core State Standards subcommittee. It’s shocking that a supposedly educated individual from an institute of higher learning would repeatedly use inflammatory and bigoted rhetoric. The bills put the fate of districts into the hand of one or two officials and lack objectivity in determining whether to dissolve a district. Both bills passed 58-49 and now move to the state Senate.

Rutledge introduced HB 4813 and co-sponsored HB...
