School districts in the 74th House District received an increase of nearly $13.7 million in the recently signed state budget. This budget includes record per-pupil funding of $10,050, and dedicated funding for special education, at-risk students, student mental health services, school transportation, and universal free school meals for all public school students. |

Thank you to everyone who attended the Capital Caucusās LGBTQIA+ Town Hall. We shared what we are doing at the state level to protect LGBTQIA+ Michiganders, heard residentsā concerns about discriminatory legislation that has been introduced and what we are doing to push back, and discussed how we can advocate for the LGBTQIA+ community. The Department of Insurance and Financial Services released aĀ bulletinĀ last week stating that insurers in the individual and small group markets in Michigan must fully cover COVID-19 vaccines. This was issued as part of the governorās Sept. executive directive (Executive DirectiveĀ 2025-7) instructing state departments to remove barriers to COVID-19 vaccine access and ensure that all health insurance plans under state regulatory authority continue to cover the vaccine.
