Auto No-Fault Reform

For years, fixing Michigan’s auto no-fault laws and lowering insurance costs for Michiganders has been one of my top priorities. After the passage of historic legislation on issues from gun safety to reproductive health, the Legislature has turned its focus to auto no-fault reform. While the 2019 reforms made meaningful progress, we recognize that insurance costs and other aspects of the law have not lived up to our expectations. I am, therefore, happy to announce that my colleagues and I have begun talks to further reform auto no-fault in Michigan. I hope to be able to offer updates on our progress in the near future.

Financial Literacy Tour Finale

Financial Literacy

Over the last few months, I have been traveling the state to educate Michiganders on financial topics including credit unions, banking, saving, investing and many other topics. It is important that everyone understands the impact of finance on their lives; becoming financially literate can help people understand how to manage their finances and work toward a bright financial future. In this spirit, I invite you to join me at the Auburn Hills Marriott Pontiac to close out my Financial Literacy Tour. I hope to see all of your bright faces as we come together with other lawmakers, financial institutions and residents to help educate each other on all kinds of financial issues.

MI Fitness Grant

I am happy to announce that the Michigan Fitness Association is making $8.5 million in grant funds from the Michigan Economic Development Corp. available to Michigan fitness businesses! All Michigan-based fitness facilities, boutiques, gyms or studios are eligible to apply for and receive funds from the Michigan Fitness Association Health and Wellness Enhancement Grant. This grant is exclusively available to Michigan fitness industry businesses for the purpose of helping those businesses grow and enhance the health and wellness of their communities.
