LANSING, Mich., Jan. 28, 2021 — State Rep. Amos O’Neal (D-Saginaw) was appointed this week to serve as the Democratic Caucus Vice Chair for the 2021-22 legislative term. O’Neal is serving his first term representing the 95th House District, prior to which he served for 4 years on the Saginaw County Board of Commissioners and 13 years on the Saginaw City Council, including serving as Mayor pro tem.

“It’s humbling to receive an appointment to this position during my first term,” said O’Neal. “This role within the caucus will help me ensure that the values of the Saginaw community are properly represented in Lansing. I look forward to working with the rest of the leadership team to ensure Michigan’s working families and small businesses have the support they need to weather this pandemic and recover once COVID is finally defeated.”

O’Neal has also been appointed to serve as the Democratic Vice Chair of the House Joint Capitol Outlay Committee, as well as serving on the House Committees on Workforce, Trades and Talent, Appropriations, and the Appropriations Subcommittees on General Government and Education.
