O’Neal Congratulates Five Saginaw Businesses Awarded Worker Training Grants

Press Release | Office of State Rep. Amos O’Neal

LANSING, Mich., Dec. 19, 2025 — This week, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer announced approximately $365,000 in grants to five Saginaw-based businesses through the Going PRO Talent Fund to support workforce training and skills development.

“Investing in people is investing in Michigan’s future,” said state Rep. Amos O’Neal (D-Saginaw). “The Going PRO Talent Fund reflects a commonsense approach to economic development. It strengthens our workforce, supports employers and ensures workers have the skills they need to build stable, well-paying careers. When workers succeed, our communities succeed.”

The Going PRO Talent Fund supports employer-led training initiatives, including on-the-job training for current and new employees. These investments help workers advance in their careers while enabling employers to grow and remain competitive.

The Saginaw recipients of the Going PRO Talent Fund include Saginaw Psychological Services, Inc., Wobig Construction Co., Nexteer Automotive, Covenant HealthCare and General Motors.

“Our local businesses are the backbone of Saginaw’s economy,” O’Neal added. “I congratulate these employers, their leadership and the hardworking employees they invest in every day. Their commitment to training and growth helps strengthen our local economy and build opportunity right here at home.”
