SAGINAW, Mich., Jan. 23, 2026 — Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel filed an antitrust lawsuit today alleging that major oil companies conspired for decades to suppress competition from renewable energy and drive up energy costs for consumers in Michigan. In response, state Rep. Amos O’Neal (D-Saginaw) issued the following statement: “For years, energy costs have been too high for many families and small businesses. When big companies block competition and slow down new options, regular people end up paying more just to keep the lights on and the heat running. Individuals and small business owners deserve fair prices and real choices, not higher energy bills. I appreciate the attorney general stepping in to look out for Michigan families.” ### |
