LANSING – As October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, members of the Progressive Women's Legislative Caucus are urging their Republican colleagues that a package of bills aimed at combating domestic violence has languished in the Legislature for half a year. On Monday, Sept. 21, I hosted a forum at the Canton Township Hall with a focus on education. The goal of the forum was to give students, parents, teachers, administrators and elected officials the opportunity to jointly discuss the achievements of our education system, and the challenges it faces, both locally and at the state level.

CANTON — State Representative Kristy Pagan (D-Canton) will hold her regular coffee hours this coming week. The informal gatherings are a chance for residents to speak with her face-to-face about any thoughts, issues, or questions they have related to state government.

Coffee with Kristy will take place on Saturday, Aug. 22, at 10 a.m. at Leo’s Coney Island, 9624 Belleville Road in Belleville, and on Monday, Aug. 24, at 7 p.m. at Panera Bread, 41950 Ford Road in Canton.
