TRAVERSE CITY, Mich., April 10, 2024 — This afternoon, Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the department’s latest mobile office in Traverse City. State Rep. Betsy Coffia (D-Traverse City) was among the state and local officials in attendance. After the event, Coffia issued the following statement:

“Residents of rural Northern Michigan deserve the same level of service that our urban and suburban southern neighbors enjoy. I want to thank Secretary Benson and her department for their commitment to that idea with the opening of this new mobile office. Meeting people where they are leads to better service and better outcomes.”

Mobile offices bring Secretary of State services directly to residents through partner organizations that support communities with limited access to our offices and the internet. The redesigned and streamlined mobile office can be set up in the lobbies and shared spaces of senior centers, homeless shelters, foster-care facilities and other community organizations.
