▩ Press Statement

FLINT, Mich., Sept. 29, 2025 — In response to the tragic mass shooting and fire at a church in Grand Blanc that left at least four people dead and several others injured, state Rep. Cynthia Neeley (D-Flint) issued the following statement:

“The tragedy in Grand Blanc has shaken us all. A place of worship — where families gather to pray, to heal and to find community — has now been marked by violence and grief. My heart is with every family who lost a loved one, every neighbor who was injured and every soul in that congregation who will forever carry the scars of this attack. No community should ever have to endure such horror, yet too many of our communities know this pain.

“I stand with our neighbors in Grand Blanc, and I share their sorrow and their anger. We cannot grow numb to these tragedies, nor accept them as the price of everyday life in Michigan or anywhere else in America. Healing will take time, but Flint, Grand Blanc and all of Michigan stand together in community, strength and solidarity.”
