LANSING — State Rep. Jon Hoadley (D-Kalamazoo) joined his House colleagues today to open the new legislative session at the ceremonial swearing-in held in the House Chamber at the state Capitol. Rep. Hoadley was sworn in by state Supreme Court Justice Bridget Mary McCormack, and was joined by his parents Diane and Michael Hoadley, his partner Kris Dieterman and a member of his staff, Melissa Fish.

“Michigan voters showed they don’t want to see business as usual,” said Rep. Hoadley. “I’m excited to advocate in the 99th Legislature for the priorities of our voters: good schools, rising wages, a clean environment and a government that works. Michigan is ripe for change. Let’s develop solutions to the problems our state is facing, whether it’s inadequate funding for public services, or adjusting our response time to crises, that are inclusive and collaborative in nature. We need a Michigan that invests in people and our communities.”

Rep. Hoadley represents House District 60, which includes Kalamazoo and portions of the city of Portage, as well as Kalamazoo Township. Rep. Hoadley can be contacted toll-free by phone at (888) 833-6636, by email at jonhoadley@house.mi.gov, or through his website hoadley.housedems.com.
