Rep. Noah Arbit Re-introduces “Advancing MI Mental Health” Legislation
LANSING, Mich. — State Representative Noah Arbit (D–West Bloomfield) introduced House Bill 4095, a reintroduction of legislation from his 2023 “Advancing MI Mental Health” package aimed at improving access to mental health care across Michigan.
HB 4095 is a reintroduction of HB 5343 of 2023. By cutting red tape in the insurance paneling process for mental health providers, Arbit’s legislation is designed to expand provider participation in insurance networks and ultimately increase access to timely, affordable mental health services for Michiganders.
“No issue is more vital than ensuring every Michigander has access to mental health care,” said Rep. Arbit. Ensuring timely access to care is urgent. That’s why we need to put a clock on insurance companies’ response to provider applications – no longer than 60 days from submission to decision. My legislation will help put Michigan on a path to becoming a place where kids, seniors, and everyone in between can access the vital mental health care they need.”
Rep. Noah Arbit has been a leading advocate for strengthening Michigan’s mental health system and continues to prioritize policies that reduce barriers to care, support providers, and improve outcomes for individuals and families from Keego Harbor to Copper Harbor.
