⚖️ House Republicans Pass Legislation Restricting Student Bathroom Use |
|
As Michiganders continue to wait for a completed state budget, last week House Republicans were focused on passing legislation to dictate what bathrooms students can use. House Bill 4024 would restrict transgender students from using bathrooms, locker rooms and changing rooms that align with their gender identity in public schools. I voted no. This legislation does nothing to protect our kids, and it legitimizes discrimination against an already marginalized and vulnerable group. This was an easy vote for me. |
