LANSING — Gov. Rick Snyder delivered his final State of the State address this evening. In response, state Rep. Winnie Brinks (D-Grand Rapids) issued the following statement:

“While it's good to hear the proposals Gov. Rick Snyder outlined tonight to invest more in developing career and technical training programs, I'm disappointed he didn’t do enough to address the neglect of our crumbling infrastructure and the failure to protect Michigan families from harmful contaminants in our drinking water. What happened to the families in Flint should have been a great wake-up call to our state, but families in northern Kent County and other regions around Michigan are facing similar crises with PFAS in their drinking water. Protecting public health and keeping drinking water safe must be a priority of our state”
