Thank you to everyone who joined us for yesterday’s Veterans Day Ceremony and Tribute. It was truly a moving morning of reflection, community and gratitude for those who have served our country. |
The event began with breakfast, light music and a slideshow honoring local veterans. The Job Corps Color Guard of the Gerald R. Ford Job Corps Center presented the colors, followed by a beautiful rendition of the national anthem performed by Grand Rapids 2nd Ward Commissioner Lisa Knight. |
During the formal program, we recognized 22 local veterans with certificates of appreciation. |
Among those honored were four remarkable community leaders who shared their stories of service and purpose:

I was deeply honored to present these tributes and to share a message of hope, unity and continued commitment to those who served. |
I would also like to extend special thanks to Gerald R. Ford Job Corps Center students, who served as the color guard and assisted with distributing tributes; to our community partners and volunteers who made the morning possible; and to every veteran and family member who joined us. |
The morning concluded with fellowship and conversation over coffee and refreshments. It was a time to connect, share stories and express our collective gratitude. |
Once again, thank you to all who attended this wonderful ceremony to honor our veterans and their families. In service, |
